Spring Rolls

Originating from Southeast Asia, spring rolls are a delightful appetizer or snack that has gained popularity worldwide. These crispy rolls are often filled with a variety of vegetables and sometimes meat, all wrapped in a thin pastry shell. Ingredients:
– 8 spring roll wrappers
– 1 cup cabbage, finely shredded
– 1 cup carrots, julienned
– 1/2 cup bean sprouts
– 2 green onions, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
– 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
– 1 teaspoon sesame oil
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Oil for frying


Instructions:

1. Chop the cabbage and carrots using a sharp knife on a cutting board.

2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.

3. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.

4. Add the cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, and green onions to the pan, stir-frying for about 3-4 minutes.

5. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

6. Let the vegetable mixture cool slightly in a mixing bowl.

7. Place a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface, add about 2 tablespoons of filling, and roll it up, tucking in the sides.

8. Heat oil in the large frying pan for deep frying. Use kitchen tongs to gently place the spring rolls in the hot oil.

9. Fry the spring rolls until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
