Shepherd’s Pie is a traditional British dish known for its comforting and hearty nature.   • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Heat the large frying pan over medium heat and add olive oil.

3. Sauté the chopped onion and diced carrots in the pan until they are softened, about 5 minutes.

4. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

5. Add the ground lamb to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.

6. Stir in the tomato paste, then add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

7. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.

8. Transfer the meat mixture to an 8×8 in baking pan.

9. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly on top of the meat mixture, smoothing with a spatula.

10. Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes.

11. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
