Servings: Serves 4 people

Appliances/Utensils:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Boil the green beans in a Large Pot for boiling of salted water for about 4-5 minutes, until tender-crisp.

  2. Drain the green beans and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Then drain again and set aside.

  3. Toast the sliced almonds in a Large frying pan over medium heat, stirring frequently with a Wooden Spoon and spatula until golden brown. Remove the almonds and set aside.

  4. Add the butter and olive oil to the same Large frying pan and melt over medium heat. Let the butter cook until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma.

  5. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.

  6. Add the green beans to the pan, season with salt and pepper, and toss to coat them in the butter and garlic mixture.

  7. Squeeze in the lemon juice and sprinkle the lemon zest over the green beans using a Zester.

  8. Toss in the toasted almonds and give everything a final stir to combine.

  9. Serve immediately, garnished with extra lemon zest if desired.
