- 1 egg
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided (Cheese grater)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the rice lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside. Use a Large Pot for boiling.
- Heat the olive oil in a Large frying pan over medium heat. Add the ground beef or turkey, onion, and garlic. Cook until the meat is browned and the onion is soft.
- Stir in the oregano, basil, crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix the ricotta cheese and egg in a Mixing bowl until well combined.
- Layer a third of the meat sauce in the bottom of a Baking dish. Place three lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers, ending with the noodles and remaining sauce. Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
