Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs are a classic appetizer that have been enjoyed for centuries across various cultures. The origins can be traced back to ancient Rome, where boiled eggs were seasoned with spicy sauces. Today, deviled eggs are a staple at picnics, potlucks, and holiday gatherings, cherished for their creamy filling and delightful flavor. Ingredients:

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Paprika for garnish
  • Optional: chopped chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions:

1. Place the eggs in a Large Pot for boiling and cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

2. Once boiling, remove the pot from heat and cover. Let the eggs sit for 10 minutes to cook.

3. Carefully transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool for 5 minutes.

4. Peel the eggs and slice them in half lengthwise using a Sharp knife on a Cutting Board.

5. Gently remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl. Set the egg whites aside.

6. Mash the yolks with a Whisk until smooth, then mix in the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and white vinegar.

7. Season the yolk mixture with salt and pepper to taste, and mix until well combined.

8. Use a Spatula to fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture.

9. Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and optional chopped chives or parsley.

  • For a tangier flavor, substitute the white vinegar with apple cider vinegar or lemon juice.
  • To make it more diet-friendly, consider using Greek yogurt in place of mayonnaise.
