Cajun Chicken Pasta

Cajun Chicken Pasta is a delightful fusion of rich, spicy Cajun flavors with creamy pasta, making it a favorite comfort dish. Originating from the Southern United States, particularly Louisiana, this dish combines the zest of Cajun spices with the smoothness of Alfredo sauce, creating a balanced yet exciting meal. Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Cook fettuccine pasta in a Large Pot for boiling filled with salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

2. Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips using Sharp knives on a Cutting Board.

3. Season the chicken strips with Cajun seasoning, ensuring they are well coated.

4. Heat olive oil in a Large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken and set aside.

5. In the same Large frying pan, add the bell peppers, onion, and garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are tender.

6. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese using a Wooden Spoon and spatula until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

7. Add the cooked fettuccine and chicken back into the Large frying pan. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

8. Serve the pasta hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

  • For a spicier dish, add additional Cajun seasoning or a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Substitute heavy cream with a lighter cream or milk for a lower-calorie option.
